Drooling.

l-avenir asked: how far did you turn the advance wheel after taking the first half frame in half frame mode??? yours look so good. all mine overlap really badly. in the book it says to turn it 1/4, but I tried that and I ended up having three photos on one frame! (diana mini camera)

Hi there! I turn the wheel until I feel resistance. It used to be that I’d really wind it until it wouldn’t let me anymore. That would turn it too much though, and I didn’t like the amount of separation the photos had between each other (and they would also be printed strangely). This one in Calgary is a good example. It has it’s own charm though (the beauty of the Diana/Lomography in general).

I really love when photos overlap (like in this one, and this photo), and I think it adds a really cool, uncontrolled and unintentional element, but I can see how it would get frustrating and old if it was always happening.

Over time I’ve learned the gauge the tension in the wheel. I turn until I feel a bit of resistance. Sometimes they come out perfectly situated just touching each other, but more often my photos turn out like this, which I’m fine with.

I hope that helps! G’luck. :)

Both are multiple exposures.
